Peering into the Past: A Student History Exhibition

Do you enjoy history?  Stories?  Field trips? The Time Travelers do!  We're a history club for students in Grades 4-12 sponsored by the North Carolina Museum of History.  We participate in a wide variety of historical endeavors, and our students would like to share their work with you. Visit the Person County Museum of History on Saturday, August 27, from 2 - 4 PM for an exhibition of their work.  See projects that have been entered into district, state, and national competitions - and meet the students who have researched and curated them.  Learn more about the activities and endeavors of the Time Travelers, including: field trips recording historical podcasts blogging conducting research participating in local digs and artifact research preparing history projects for competitions The Time Travelers have participated in the following academic programs, and information will be available about all of them during the exhibition. Meet the Time Travelers

 The Time Travelers is a history club for students in Grades 4 - 12 based in Person County, North Carolina.  Currently, we have members from across the Piedmont region. Our goals are to learn history and to show others how fun that pursuit can be.  To that end, we take lots of field trips, participate in and host history-based events, and participate in history competitions like the Tar Heel Junior Historian competitions and National History Day.     We welcome other people who are history-minded to join us on our adventures.  Click here to visit our public Facebook group and stay in the know.  If you're interested in joining the club, please send our advisor a message through that page.

Test Your Skills at NC Trivia Night

Are you up on your North Carolina trivia?  Do you know about all the things that make this state great?  Test your skills at 1792 Beer Company on Wednesday, January 12, at 6:30 PM.  There will even be a food truck - Don Taco will be there so you can have your tacos and play, too.  Whether you're a pro at pub trivia or a total newbie, this is the place to be.  Here's out it works:   It's free to play. Play in teams of up to six. There are four rounds of play with four categories each (people, places, events, and sports) along with a bonus question, Final-Jeopardy style. No googling!   Turn your answer sheets in to the Time Travelers each round for your score to be counted.
