Person County History Hunt Event

     Looking for a cool way to learn about local history while on a fun adventure with friends?


     Join the Time Travelers history club on Saturday, December 7th from 11 AM - 4 PM for their first ever History Hunt!  Teams taking part in this exciting scavenger hunt will solve clues and explore Person County historic sites to have the chance to win prizes sponsored by local businesses.
Here's how to play:

  • Form a team of up to six people
  • Register with the Time Travelers at Tricia's Espresso on Saturday, December 7th anytime between 11 AM and 1 PM.
  • Solve 10 clues and travel to the related secret locations anytime from 11 AM - 4 PM.
  • Take team selfies at each spot and submit them.
  • Have fun and win prizes!

A few rules and guidelines:
  • Your team can have 1 - 6 members.
  • All ages are welcome!  However, every team must have at least one adult member.
  • Your team must register at Tricia's Expresso before beginning the hunt.  Registration is open from 11 AM - 1 PM.
  • The registration fee is $25 per team and can be paid during the registration time, cash only.
  • Your team will need at least one smartphone for taking pictures and submitting selfies.
  • Every team member must be in each selfie.
  • All photos must be submitted before the ending time of 4 PM.
  • The secret historic locations can be anywhere within Person County limits.  You will need transportation to travel to each spot.
  • A limited quantity of special edition keepsake cards will be available at each secret location on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Prizes will be available for pick-up at 1792 Beer Co.
  • You do not have to be a history buff to play in the History Hunt!  Our Resources for Research blog post includes a list of online research tools for local history.  All of the answers can be found on those websites with a little digging!
